Welcome!

Hello, my name is Karie and I'm and addict. I am completely addicted to planning parties. I'm obsessed with every single detail, and have been known to "take over" my family members parties....Well, now that I have that off my chest I feel much better! Welcome to my little corner of the Internet, I hope you visit often, share, and perhaps become inspired from time to time. I plan on featuring parties on a weekly basis, so if you have a great party to share please contact me at lilbirdsmama@yahoo.com

I'll kick of by featuring a party I planned for my daughter, Ava. When I choose a theme I try and include my daughter. I want her to be "into" the party. When Ava was almost 3 she became very interested in Alice in Wonderland and begged for an Alice in Wonderland party. I have to be honest I LOVE Disney, we live in Florida and have passes, but I don't LOVE Disney themed parties. That being said, to each their own! I knew that if I was going to throw Ava an Alice in Wonderland party I would need to embrace the theme and search Etsy for invitations that didn't scream Disney. I was so happy with what I found! These are from Viva La Violette, you can find them in her Etsy shop here http://www.etsy.com/listing/57346267/alice-in-wonderland-floral-invitations

I rented a gazebo at a local park for the party.

For decorations I knew exactly what I wanted and that a lot of it would need to be handcrafted.

The White Rabbit's stop watch with the party time.

White roses "painted red"

The Children were served Strawberry Jam sandwiches, fruit cups,  cookies and lemonade in tea cups.

Strawberry "ONLY" Sandwiches (Per Ava's request)

My amazing friend Kashmira made the cake. Isn't it beautiful? I smile every time I see a picture of it. It was exactly what I wanted.

After cake, we played croquet of course!

Oh! Did I mention that the guests were instructed to "come dressed as their favorite Wonderland character"? Check out these cuties!

So, there you have it. My first blog post! I would like to give a shot out to the fabulous Dawn Hiatt of Elemental Images  http://www.elemental-image.com/ for shooting all of the images above.  So, now that I've "shown you mine" will you PLEASE show me yours?

Happy planning!
